The end of August marks the beginning of fair and carnival season in Southern Illinois. What started as town gatherings to celebrate harvest and compete for biggest produce, or best pies has morphed over the decades, adding rides, unique foods, outdoor concerts, and races. Nights at the fair are some of the best memories a Southern Illinoisan can recall; the sounds of the rides and games, flashing lights from rides, smell of funnel cakes and turkey legs. I want to capture that feeling before we head into autumn, and bring it to your doorstep.
